Project report from the year 2014. Production times, technology, and cost comparisons describe the projects of that time.

Show Complex Machines Clearly

Professional videos can convey processes that a single photo cannot explain. An example is the test run of a Peddinghaus FDB 600 at the company nenok in Cologne. We produced the video in just three hours.

The machine automatically drills holes into steel plates and cuts shapes using a CNC-controlled plasma cutter. In three minutes, the film shows what the machine can do and how complex shapes are formed.

A Voortman Saw-Boring Machine in Film

The second video was created for the sale of a used Voortman Saw-Boring Machine. It includes an integrated slide show and was shot and edited with considerable effort.

The shooting, including travel times, took about one day, as the production could not be held in Cologne. Approximately half a day was added for post-production and editing.

Plan Photo and Film Together

Both media can be combined into a single project. This saves coordination time and ensures a unified visual style. In those productions, this resulted in a cost savings of approximately 20 percent — not a blanket price guarantee for other projects.

The photo, therefore, was far from obsolete: For large-format print materials, we still needed independent image files, for example from the then 40-Megapixel medium format camera. Smaller film productions were handled by us internally; larger projects were jointly managed with experienced cinematographers and directors.
