My panel of 15 images in the Portrait category at the International Photographic Qualifications 2016 was successfully evaluated and awarded Level 1 (high international standard). The award was titled “International Photographer of High Performance” (HPbpp).
International Photographic Qualifications (IPQ)
Since 2010, professional photographers have been regularly given the opportunity to have their professional skills, technical abilities, and creativity assessed against internationally recognized standards through the IPQ. Entries are judged by a jury of internationally renowned photographers, based on evaluation criteria that have already become a standard in many countries. Entries are accepted in the categories Portrait Photography, Wedding Photography, and Creative People Photography, with four different performance levels attainable (International Photographer of High Performance – HPbpp, International Photographer of High Quality – HQbpp, International Photographer Excellence – Ebpp, and Master).
The IPQ were originally described as a measure for professional development, continuing education, and support for professional photographers, who have already become a core component of professional training in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States — and have also established themselves in Germany.
Through the strict regulation of the selection process, the IPQ can also serve as a guide for consumers seeking professional portrait and wedding photography studios that meet the highest standards. For the end customer, this means it is easier to orient themselves when searching for a photographer and to better assess the degree of professionalism of a photographer.
